Ecall is built to keep your conversations private by design. Your calls are protected with end-to-end encryption, and our systems are designed so that we cannot access their content.
We collect as little data as possible – and here’s exactly what that means.
1. Information we do not collect
Privacy is a core design principle at Ecall. Our systems are intentionally designed to minimize data collection.
We do not collect:
- The content of your audio or video calls
- Your contacts
- Precise location data
- Browsing history outside of Ecall
- Advertising identifiers or behavioral tracking data
Because calls are protected by end-to-end encryption, Ecall cannot access the content of your conversations.
2. Information we collect
We only collect what is necessary to operate and improve the service.
Account Information
To use certain features, you may choose to sign in using:
- Apple (optional)
- Google (optional)
When you sign in or create a profile, we may collect:
- Email address
- Username (optional)
- Display name (optional)
- Profile picture (optional)
Technical Information
To operate and improve the service, we may collect:
- IP address (temporarily, for connection purposes)
- Device information (model, OS version)
- App version and crash reports
- Connection quality metrics
3. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and maintain the Ecall service
- Verify your identity and prevent abuse
- Establish and maintain encrypted connections
- Improve call quality and resolve technical issues
- Send essential service-related updates
- Prevent abuse, fraud, or misuse of the platform
- Enforce platform integrity and security policies
We never use your data for advertising or behavioral tracking.
4. Fraud prevention and service integrity
To protect the integrity and security of the Service, Ecall may process limited information for purposes including:
- Fraud prevention
- Abuse detection
- Account security
- Partner verification
- Preventing unauthorized or harmful use of the platform
This may include business-related information provided during partner registration or verification processes.
5. End-to-End Encryption
All audio and video calls on Ecall are protected by end-to-end encryption. This means:
- Calls are encrypted on your device before transmission
- Only you and your call participants can decrypt the content
- Ecall servers do not have access to encryption keys
- Each call uses unique, ephemeral encryption keys
- Even if servers are compromised, your calls remain private
Ecall is built with a zero-knowledge architecture, meaning we cannot access the content of your communication.
6. Data sharing and disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information.
We may share limited information only in the following cases:
- Service Providers: Trusted partners who help operate our infrastructure (e.g., hosting), under strict confidentiality
- Legal Requirements: When required by law or valid legal requests
- Safety and Security: To protect users, systems, or legal rights
We may restrict or disable access to accounts or applications that violate our terms or pose risks to the platform.
7. Data retention
We retain information only as long as necessary to provide the service:
- Account information is kept until you delete your account
- Technical logs are automatically deleted after a limited period
- Temporary metadata (such as call duration) may be retained briefly for operational purposes
- Call content is never stored on our servers
8. Your rights and control
You have control over your data. Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access your personal information
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your account and associated data
- Export your data
- Restrict or object to certain processing
You can manage your data and privacy preferences directly within the Ecall app.
9. Children's privacy
Ecall is not intended for individuals under the age of 13, or the minimum legal age required in your jurisdiction.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe that a child has provided personal data, please remove the data through the app or discontinue use of the service.
10. International data transfers
Ecall operates globally. Your information may be processed in countries other than your own.
We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data, regardless of where it is processed.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. For significant changes, we will provide a more prominent notice (such as an in-app notification).
